Domain of One’s Own Admin Workshop

Welcome to the workshop! We’re excited to welcome you as you join the expert team from Reclaim Hosting for a virtual workshop about all things Domain of One’s Own. 

What to expect

This workshop brings together a small group of administrators from various schools for training and discussion as we take a deep dive into a Domain of One’s Own. The workshop provides both applied training and concrete examples of administering and teaching with Domain of One’s Own, along with individual help, peer support and time for questions.

Workshop learning outcomes: 

  • The systems that power DoOO and how they work together
  • Getting comfortable administering and troubleshooting
  • Tools used to manage users and accounts in DoOO
  • Troubleshooting broken sites and what to do when things aren’t working
  • Building engagement and growing your DoOO initiative sustainably

How to prepare

The workshop is designed to offer you maximum support and time with our team whilst also fitting flexibility into your busy schedule.

Video lessons and workshop materials are made available one week before the live sessions, to help you prepare and make the most of the live sessions on the day. These materials and any session recordings remain available for a month afterwards so you can review the materials again.

On the day

The workshop sessions are scheduled to take place as follows:

Start time: 12pm EDT
End time: 5pm EDT

Live sessions will take place in Whereby, and you don’t need to download an app as it’s a browser-based platform. Check which browsers are supported and find out how to join.

In addition to the live sessions, you can join our DoOO chat channel on Discord to chat with fellow participants, share your progress or ask a question.

Agenda

  • 12:00pm Welcome and Domain of One’s Own Overview Whereby Meeting: Meet our expert team and fellow participants and get set for the workshop. We’ll also introduce you to the systems that power a Domain of One’s Own, and talk about the key features. If you have specific questions you’d like to cover today, this is the time to share them and our team will pick them up throughout the day.
  • 12:30pm WordPress Domain’s Portal Video Lesson: Introduction to Domain of One’s Own, overview of key features & WordPress domains portal.
  • 1:00pm User Management via WHMCS Video Lesson: How to manage users for Domain of One’s Own using WHMCS.
  • 2:00pm Server Management with WHM Video Lesson: Whether it’s finding data to make informed decisions behind-the-scenes, customizing Installatron apps to make sure your users have access to what they need, or modifying account settings across a broad number of users, WHM offers you a lot of options.
  • 2:30pm Q&A: WordPress Portal, WHMCS and WHM Whereby Meeting: Ask our team questions about the topics covered so far.
